THE GLOBAL GOALS
In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, setting out 17 core global goals for sustainable development. These goals aim to guide the decisions, investments, and actions of governments, local governments, businesses, civil society groups, and other actors over the next 15 years, aiming to create a world where every country achieves sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth and decent work for all, and where all natural resources, from air to land, and from rivers, lakes, groundwater, and oceans, are produced, consumed, and used sustainably.
